Climbing & Mountaineering
In no other valley in Tyrol are dreamlike climbing areas and via ferrata as close together as in the Ötztal. The valley is one of the granite climbing areas in Tyrol and with its almost 600 routes in different climbing gardens, there is a rich variety for everyone. Climbing history was written here by Reinhard Schiestl, who opened the first nines in Tyrol in the early 80s.
Whether you are a family with children or a hardmover, in the Ötztal, everyone gets their money's worth when climbing. To list all the highlights of climbing gardens, fixed rope routes and outdoor activities here would go beyond the scope of this brochure. The best thing is to come to the Ötztal for climbing.
Lukas Riml "Lu" - our own state-certified mountain and ski guide - will be happy to accompany you. Just ask and let yourself be guided. An unforgettable experience is fixed!

Stuibenfall in Umhausen
Over a total of 159 metres and two steep steps, the "Horlachbach" falls from Niederthai into the valley, the water flags towering metres high into the sky. These clouds of water dust also give the enormous natural spectacle its name: Stuibenfall.
The water dust pleases the visitors with its natural, refreshing effect, in addition it also promotes health. The positive effect has also been scientifically proven, especially close to the 'water dust' on the ion platform
